Bali Sands Quilt ~

Well ~ it's finally up on the design wall. I keep rearranging and rearranging the blocks, not sure of the lay out. I saw this quilt over on Mary's blog, fiberliscious.blogspot.com and I really liked it, so I thought I'd give it a try. I think this quilt would look pretty in hand dyed fabric, so guess what I'm going to do over spring break? Yep ~ I'm giving dying a try!

Well, back to rearranging :)

Fun Quilting Store...

While I was  in Arkansas this past week,  my sister took me to this quilt store.
I was so excited to get inside,  I didn't get the name of this great quilt store.
Just this picture with my cell phone.

Did I buy anything ~ you ask
No.
I couldn't have gotten it in my stuffed suitcase!

And I'm thinking if these walls could talk,
What a story they could tell. This house was very old.

My favorite little scissors....

These are my favorite little scissors ~ Tool Tron Scissors. These scissors have an ergonomic ambidextrous design, that reduces hand fatigue while snipping threads.

Bali Sands Quilt ~

Block # 2.....  slowly but surely ......
I know you aren't suppose to use a ruler for these wavy lines, but I find it very difficult! I also know that I should just go for it and cut different widths and lengths and waves but that scares me!  Call me crazy :)

Blocks one and two on next post......
This blogging stuff is another thing I need to practice with.
Enjoy!

Bali Sands Quilt ~

Blocks one and two on the design wall ~ aka ~ the back of my sofa. I'm just to lazy to put up my design wall and it's just to BIG to keep it set up.

Bali Sands....

So I really like the Vanilla Quilt over on Fiberliscious blogspot.
And of course I had to give it a try! This is the first block for my quilt that
I'm calling, Bail Sands. The fabric is essex linen in, putty, natural, sand and white.
I only hope mine will look as good as Fiberliscious'
enjoy!

Poppy by Laura Gunn

This quilt was so fun and easy to make. We had a storm come through this weekend, so I decided to stay home and sew. I really like this fabric and  I used the pattern from Abbey Lane  to show case it. I only wish my camera was working better. The true colors  are not coming out very good.  I guess it's time for a new camera!
Time to do the quilting :)
