Christmas Presents....

 Christmas presents for two of my granddaughters...... American Girl dolls beds made by my husband and the bedding made by me.
 No sewing going on at my house until after the Holidays.

Finally Finished ~

Gosh ~ quilting  has been pretty slow at my house. I'm trying to finish up quilt tops that I started way back when and that just doesn't excite me :(  I start making a couple of Santa Door Banners, one for my daughters house and one for my house, but that is slow going too!  (one is almost finished).
 I'm hoping I can get motivated!!!  Here is one of my finished quilts.

Yoshiko Jenzenji Fabric

I was so excited when the mailman came today. He brought me a package with these fabulous, Yoshiko Jenzinji fabrics! I have wanted some of this fabric for a long time! So when I found out that Tammy of Marmalade Fabrics had it in her shop, I was thrilled! Now I wish I could find the book, Quilt Creation by Yoshiko Jenzenji. Enjoy ~

Hand Dyed Fabric

So once I saw Melody's quilt over on Fibermania ~ I knew that's the quilt I wanted to make with my hand dyed fabrics! My blocks are 16 x 16, QAYG, thank you Mariann. It still needs  borders or, maybe not.  All I know is, that it has been to hot to sew!  Today however, I did manage to dye 9 yards of fabric and my feet are killing me. And that's my excuse not to walk this evening :)  We are headed to AZ over the long weekend, only to be in 112 weather, so worth it tho, to see the grand kids.

Finished Quilt

My goodness it has taken me so long to finish up this quilt. My sister picked out the pattern and fabrics back in March and I'm just getting around to finishing it today. Could it be that I'm not crazy about it?? Just not my colors ?? Anyhoo ~ I'm so happy it will be finding it's new home.

Hot summer days....

Wow it has been hot here in san diego. My sewing machine has been in for it's check-up for the last four weeks. I have been waiting patiently for it's return. Mean while,  I decided to dye some more fabric, this time following Frieda Anderson's book called.... fabric to dye for. This is an awesome book, very easy to understand.

Air Show ~

This weekend there was a vintage air show by my house. I took this picture of one of the many planes flying over.... click on picture to make bigger ~ pretty cool!

Beach Day ~

Well ~ we decided to go to the beach on Saturday. Sometimes I forget just how beautiful San Diego really is. This is Scripps pier in La Jolla.

The water was really cold. Crazy weather we are having.
