Tabby

Been working on my granddaughter the last few weeks. This is her writing in the sand at Ocean Beach.
Now comes a lot of little details and stitching it down, I can see the light at the end of tunnel! It's an over cast day here in sunny San Diego, so the colors just didn't come out right.

Half Square Triangles

Having fun making half square triangles! The Kaffe Fassett print will be the backing.
Playing with the lay out ~ I'm liking the herring bone pattern!

Scraps....

I save all my scraps.....
Looking online I came across Serendipity Quilts..... you do not need freezer paper, tracing paper or templates. You messily cut fabric pieces to work with. You just go with your instincts! Easy you say??? Well not for me!!!
I thought I'd give it a go with this cute little sun, now keep in mind that it is not glued down yet, (oh thats the other thing you glue the pieces down then quilt)! So here is my version of the sun. It's been cold here in So. California, I wish the sun would warm us up!

Happy New Year!

I've been  off of  work for a few weeks now and I did a lot of reading ( quilt blogs of course)!

I'm also working on a fun project, that I hope to finish tomorrow.

Looking at all the quilting blogs I came across..... Ice Dyeing..... and thought I'd give it a go!
It was easy…... fun picking out dye colors and super exciting waiting to see the out come!
Enjoy :)
